A Tale of Two Beasts is an interesting book. It has two sides of the same story! One part of the story which is part 1, is the story of a girl who find a squirrel and it tells the story about what she thinks. In part 2, it’s the squirrel’s side of the story and he tells the story of what he thinks.
I have not ever in my life read a book about two people like this, where part one and part two show both sides of the story. It’s cool to actually see what the girl thinks and then what the squirrel thinks. At first, when I read A Tale of Two Beasts to my 4 year old sister, she really liked it. She was laughing when we read the book together. All of my sisters really like this book, because its funny and cool to see both sides of the story. The girl really wants to take care of the squirrel, but the squirrel doesn’t seem like the squirrel wants to be taken care of by her.
What the girl thinks of the squirrel is totally different from what the squirrels says on his part, that made it a little funny. One example is that the girl thought the squirrel was too hot because his face turned red, but the squirrel was really mad. So, what the girl thought was totally different from what the squirrel said he was really thinking. The Girl tried talking to the squirrel, and the squirrel got mad and got a little scared because he doesn’t understand.
A Tale of Two Beasts taught me that if I meet a person or animal that I don’t know, and if they don’t understand me, I can’t expect them to know what I’m saying. I can’t expect to know what they are saying or thinking either. I can’t just give it things to other people unless I know if they like it or not.
A Tale of Two Sisters
Something like this happened to me too. I remember the other day, me and my sister were playing outside together and I did something that she did not like, and she did something that I did not like. She ended up telling my parents first, and I kind of got in trouble for it. Then, I told my side of the story, and then she kind of got in trouble. We both told our two sides of the one story, and even though they were they were both true to us, they were different. I might think about this story next time something like that happens.
